Happy Easter!!!

We had such a great Easter weekend with our little family. Here's a bunch of pictures of our Easter adventures...
Waiting for our Easter Egg hunt to begin. It was over in about 2 minutes.
So glad we decided to do this outside. It ended up being a HUGE mess. The two little ones did not understand the concept of stirring gently. The eggs all turned out beautiful.
Easter Morning. The kids were up before the sun.
Happy Easter!!!

The boys new bunk bed

There was no doubt in my mind Riley could build this, but I am beyond impressed with the finished project. He worked so hard building this bunk bed for the boys.

He built this thing from scratch. I'm so lucky to have such a talented husband.
Gabe was such a BIG helper.
The boys LOVE their new bed! Riley's hard work totally payed off.

Proud Mama

Just wanted to brag a little about my two awesome kids...

Damien received the Principles award (only two kids from each grade get it), and AB honor roll. After the assembly I came up to him and told him how exciting that was for him to get that. His response... "I know, it was weird."
Amaya received the Leader in ME award (two from each class) and A honor roll.
It's been such a great year for these two and I am so very proud of them.

I am really hoping to add a few catching up posts this week, working backwards. Don't hold your breath though, I am a scatter-brained pregnant lady who can't seem to get things done as planned

Amaya's first soccer game!

I am so behind on my blogging that it's a little overwhelming to try to catch up, so I won't even try. We had such an awesome summer...Camping, Schlitterbahn, relaxing at the clubhouse, Trip to Utah. So many great things I could have blogged about, but I'm kind of a slacker, so I didn't. I decided I better write about Amaya's first soccer game before the season is over. We had so much fun watching her play. She did awesome and even scored a point for her team! We are so proud of her!Future soccer player

Hooray For Rain!

Its been a really dry and hot summer here in Texas, so we were all so very excited to get a short-lived downpour of rain. Gabe and Amaya were outside within seconds with their rainboots on....
Can't get enough of these two (Damien too, but apparently he was too cool to romp around in the rain ;))

Camping

Well here it is...our first camping trip with just our little family. What an adventure we had! After jam packing our land rover with all the gear, our kids, and the dog, we headed out on a two day camping trip to Mckinney falls state park. It took us about an hour to get there, so we had just enough time to put up the tent before the sun went down. The first night was the longest night of my life. Damien and Amaya fell asleep pretty fast, but it took awhile to get Gabe settled down. He woke up screaming several times during the night with no way to calm him down. We were the camping neighbors from hell. Riley took him out to the car so no one could hear him scream. During that time Telly (our dog) slipped out of the tent unknowingly. As soon as we realized it, I was in a panic. I was certain he was gone forever. At 3:00 in the morning Riley was out searching for him. Thankfully, he found him up the road not too far from our campsite. It was a very long night. The next morning we were all so tired, but so ready for a fun day ahead of us.

We ate breakfast burritos (Riley makes the best eggs ever!), and then we went exploringIt was such a beautiful place!

We swam for a bit, and then went back to camp for some lunchand then we swam some moreThe second night we all slept a little better with gabe waking up just a couple of times. The next day we we went on another hike, packed up camp, and then headed home.
Camping is a ton of work, but well worth it! I now appreciate my parents even more for taking all 7 of us kids on many camping adventures. I have so many wonderful memories and I hope to do the same for my own kids.

Next post coming soon...Camping at Bastrop state park (yep, we braved another camping trip).
